Believe it or not, there once was a time when sports stars didn’t make the millions they made today. During the off season, a number of professional baseball and football stars turned to the Teamsters for warehouse work, including Chicago Cubs great Ernie Banks. Banks wasn’t only a member of Local 743 in Chicago, but he also worked as an organizer.
