Memorial Tattoo
A third-generation Teamster in New Jersey recently answered a few questions about his Teamster tattoo. “I got my tattoo in 2005 because my grandfather had recently passed and he was the President of Teamsters Local 866,” said Tim De Stefano, a UPS Teamster. De Stefano’s grandfather was Ralph De Stefano, President of Local 866, and his father is a Local 177 shop steward. “I had grown up looking up to my grandfather and raised with Teamster pride so I thought it was a great commemoration to my grandfather’s values,” De Stefano said. “Most people are very surprised that I would get a Teamster tattoo. Some people really like it because it shows my devotion to my grandfather and other people really like it because it shows my honor and dedication to working-class Teamsters everywhere. It really speaks to a lot of people,” he said. If you’ve got a Teamster tattoo, or know someone who does, e-mail a photo of it, or mail it to Teamster Magazine, 25 Louisiana Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001, and we’ll run it on this blog. |
